After an 18 month hiatus it has been just thrilling to perform live concerts once again.
Our first concert in September was in Boston Spa in Yorkshire, a town home to some lovely tea shops and also, incidentally, the former residence of cricketer Geoffrey Boycott. Our programme included works by De Falla, Bartok, Ibert, Vitali, Korngold and Sarasate and it was lovely to catch up with our audience afterwards. The sense of celebration and enthusiasm was wonderful to experience again and the Bakewell Tarts and Carrot Cake were also delicious!
A week later and we were heading to Whitstable in Kent for a recital for their Music Society. Again, the sense of celebration created such a lovely atmosphere for us and we hope our varied programme including Grieg’s Violin Sonata No. 3, Mendelssohn’s Rondo Capriccioso and works by Andre Previn and Ian Venables offered something for everyone.
It was also lovely to have a bit of free time in Whitstable for a post-concert stroll along the beach the next day.
